The Corolla comes only as a sedan; however, the Impreza is available as either a four-door sedan or a five-door hatchback. The 2015 Toyota Corolla has slightly more space than the 2015 Subaru Impreza sedan (though not much--the Impreza 4-door has 96.9 cubic feet of passenger volume, while the Corolla has 97.5 cubic feet), but the 2015 Impreza hatchback has the same amount of passenger volume as the Corolla, and much more cargo space (22.5 cubic feet, compared to the 13 cubic feet of the Corolla). Even though the Impreza 4-door is slightly smaller on the inside, it still makes great use of space--so much so that it has more front headroom, front legroom, and front shoulder room than the Corolla.

The Corolla, on the other hand, has a 1.8-liter I4 engine that's less powerful, generating 132 horsepower and 128 pound-feet of torque. When the Impreza is equipped with Lineartronic continuously variable transmission, it's nearly as efficient as the Corolla with continuously variable transmission--it gets 28 city MPG and 37 highway MPG, while the Corolla gets 29 city MPG and 38 highway MPG. The Impreza, however, has an amazing feature that the Corolla lacks: symmetrical all-wheel drive, which increases performance by letting you go where other cars can't.
